“Keath Sodapop”

It is 5:00 A.M. Monday morning and the city is beginning to stir. The air remains still and quiet except for the faint outline of a shadowy figure ferociously working to complete his masterpiece under the approaching sun. For the masses the rising sun is a symbol of a new beginning and a movement towards the routine but, for Keath Sodapop it represents the unwanted recognition of the public.

Who Keath Sodapop truly is can only be seen through the use of a nom de plume. However, under close insightful investigation it can be understood that such a surname can reveal more about an individual than true identity could ever hope to project. Keath’s work on display to the public acts as a window and creates an omnipresent atmosphere for the viewer to look and observe through. Since the viewer is unable to experience Keath’s work in its true environment this piece is intended to serve as narrative making explicit the true nature of a poet and muralist hidden within a subculture.
